Well trendites and flakey hipsters here we are…….. Dallas and Bandoids have finally crawled out of their caves of hibernation taking time to melt their new record together… They will be squeezing these little virgin songs and letting them fungate all over the festival circuit this summer! We promise to make it rawer then a french steak tartare and play till we pop our speakers out of their stretched sockets.

The band will raise there bar like a drunk at Kingscross with a fist full of fifties! Our new drummer (Stain), will be triangulating people left right and centre whilst pole axeing his thick girthed skins! Come cop a beating cobbers. Goat reckons this is the best drummer you will see this summer if not, come to Goatalicous and he will eat his own cheese!

As you’ve all probably noticed, the music industry is changing kiddies.. The decay of the majors is a smell that has always lingered, yet getting worse, like the Werribee poo farm on a 45 degree day…. I have now been out 7 nights straight in Melb, the music scene is so strong I cant help but be inspired to LAY the NEXT record down here. Places like the Pure Pop Records you can still smoke, drink and listen to music and buy a record, you can watch Freddy Negro do his legendary cartoons, naked from the waste down.. hehe …How fkn rad is that! Oh yeah Goat don’t smoke… If you like the ALT/ country, you can go to the Gem in Collingwood and half a beer away is the Tote for all things hard and loud! You can have late slurps and bands at the Pony in the city or listen to killer DJs spinning 45’s at the Cherry Bar in AC/DC lane. It just doesn’t stop! So many killer bands and venues and not to forget the Community cup coming up! LIVING END 5 BUCKS GOT TO LOVE THAT……..

FESTIVALS AND INTERNET

The face of music is changing and we are taking the power back! Festivals are the new radio, they are starting everywere and support live big and small artist! Ozz bands are shredding live and not miming, or put there because of the control of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Independent bands teaming with other bands sharing and helping each other on myspace, facebook, twitter, removing the money factor! A force that is bringing freedom of uncontrolled music straight to your door step, we cant be stopped or controlled, not even you Britney, you cant stop them!

Venues are full of Independent bands that are selling large rooms out even without support from radio or record companies. It’s yours go and get ‘em you can do it!   :]

INDEPENDENT ?

Someone asked Goat  ”Do you think independent acts are B grade to record Label hahahahahaha…Let’s start with….. “As if chook dick!”…………

Your band mates are vibeing together to your hock your prized Gibson guitar to pay $900 worth of parking fines in your 5 and a half cylinder rusted ass, bum tour juiced, fly blown, monkey vomit, yellow home made paint job… But really you are loving that your unregistered 1978 HZ Holden panel van was given to you by supporters to help your dream come true :]

I’m sure all those true independent artists out there understand about pan handling together in places like Fiztroy to buy 15 cent mi goreng noodles to share with a dash of garlic (don’t forget the garlic, it keeps the immune system up and helps with scurvy kids). Buying the ‘ole clean skin wine next to the cop shop in carlton to help with inspiration on your next home record… (OH YEAH KIDS THE CLEAN SKIN IS BETTER THAN THE BIG LABEL SHIT, ONLY 5 BUCKS!…GO TRY IT ! STAY AWAY FROM THE SCOTCH THOUGH ITS NOT WORTH HORSE SHIT ! and we’ve all at one stage or another begged our parents for 3 months on the rent you owe for the seedy crusty maggot couch you have been living on in Newtown. Sometimes a Independent band is even lucky to make it to their own show!

So next time you see your favorite band, look deep into their eyes and see if there playing as if it’s their last show ever.. with so much passion they don’t care about all the crap it took to get there, they are the beautiful times with fellow band mates and music lovers we cherish and our determination to not let the struggle get in our way of what we want to do without creative control by no-one!!!!!

Woodford Folk Fest is a beautiful regurgitated spew ..containing dreads, chai, mushrooms, John Butler, Dallas Frasca, Kaki King, dancing, drumming and many smiling freaks and freakets!

Moving on to BIG DAY OUT this made goats eyes sink into his skull and then pop out! Just like being shot from a sling shot! Put your head in a bee hive and it’s very close to the feeling of BDO what a buzz..

Goat is still wondering why dallas wore a wedding dress covered in fake blood at her gig maybe because she was a BDO virgin?

55 thousand music friends and fans come together and goat couldnt help but notice all ages all people sonically in tune together… aww that’s a nice goat. The festival was a safe friendly crowd and goat hates the government and the old codgers puttin’ down kids and concerts this crowd were real deal music lovers…. LONG LIVE THE FESTIVALS

On a sad note the Melbourne scene is yet under attack again! Venues are deemed unsafe and need security! How about go and eat a bag of dick u chook dick pencil pushers.. Goat has spent much more time at gigs then your docile uni degree statistics will ever know. I’ve never seen a fight at a gig! But I have seen flaccid bouncers at pill popping night clubs smashing kids up! There are not the same thing you wankers!

Let me just tell you the TOTE the best and most supportive venue in Melbs and Ozz and just closed down because of there ..brainless laws. No history of trouble and mind you this venue played some of OZZ most heaviest and nastiest bands. Writing on the walls spoke, “No homophobic or rascits will be tolerated.”
.. REST IN PEACE

I know the likes of Dallas and 99.9% of Victoria’s bands would not be here without these gigs.

Any way kids and goat lovers turn the tube off, your iPhone off, the Xbox off, the computer off and go and support a live gig, comedy act, dancer, busker, pan handler and meet a new friend at a safe enviroment
AKA a live music venue..
